Ushered into the heart of a divine truth

"And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." Heb 11:6.

These words are an invitation into a transformative journey, where faith becomes the cornerstone of our relationship with the Almighty. Faith, a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of trust and belief, bridges the gap between the seen and the unseen. It is the currency of our spiritual transactions, for it is through faith that we come to please God. But what does it mean to "please" Him? It's not about seeking His approval as much as it is about aligning our hearts with His divine will. Faith is the compass that guides us on this journey of alignment. Biblical history resonates with stories of those who, propelled by their faith, found favor in the eyes of God. Abraham, often referred to as the father of faith, believed God's promise of a multitude of descendants, even when his circumstances seemed bleak. Noah built an ark on dry land, trusting God's word despite the lack of rain. These examples underscore how faith becomes a catalyst for obedience, creating space for miracles.

Drawing near to God requires a belief in His existence, a foundational truth that forms the bedrock of faith. While faith doesn't eliminate doubt, it's a deliberate choice to anchor ourselves in the certainty of God's presence. Psalm 46:10 reassures us, "Be still, and know that I am God." This stillness is born out of unwavering faith, and it's within this stillness that we encounter the divine. Moreover, faith is not a one-sided endeavor. It's an invitation to a profound dance of intimacy, where we seek God with the expectation of reward. This doesn't imply transactional spirituality; rather, it speaks of God's character. Matthew 7:7-8 promises, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." The message is clear: our approach to God is intrinsically linked to our conviction in His existence and His willingness to reward those who seek Him. This isn't about transactional spirituality but rather the assurance that God responds to our genuine seeking with spiritual insights, growth, and a deeper sense of His presence. Faith fuels our pursuit, knowing that the more we seek God, the more we encounter Him.

In essence, this verse underscores the significance of faith as the bridge connecting us with the Creator. It's an active force that propels us toward obedience, fuels our pursuit of God, and kindles the fire of hope. Just as Abraham's faith was credited as righteousness, Rom 4:3, our faith shapes our identity as beloved children of God. As we journey through life's uncertainties, let us be reminded that faith isn't mere wishful thinking; it's a resolute stance, a leap into the arms of the Divine. Without faith, we navigate a world that lacks spiritual dimension. With faith, we step onto a path where the impossible becomes possible, where divine encounters await, and where pleasing God isn't a task but a privilege. Embrace this invitation, for it's through faith that we draw near to God, anchored in the belief that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

Ultimately, Hebrews 11:6 encourages us to cultivate an active, vibrant faith. It's an invitation to step beyond the boundaries of skepticism and embrace the rich tapestry of spirituality. By believing that God is both present and engaged with our lives, we not only please Him but also open ourselves to a transformative journey of connection, growth, and divine encounters. Hebrews 11:6 encapsulates a profound truth about the role of faith in our relationship with God. The verse asserts that faith is the essential foundation for pleasing God. To draw close to Him, one must not only acknowledge His existence but also hold an unwavering belief that He is both real and responsive to those who earnestly seek Him.

This verse underscores the vital connection between belief and action. Faith isn't passive; it's a dynamic force that propels us towards God. It's a conscious choice to embrace the unseen, trusting that there's more to reality than what meets the eye. Faith compels us to move beyond doubt and engage in a heartfelt pursuit of God's presence and truth.
